ALBUM REVIEW: V/A Kitsune Parisien II (2) out February 13 on Kitsune

Yes yes yes, another Kitsune compilation comes along and everyone's panties drop and the orgasms are heard all over the world about just how great they are. 'More more more' we cry, 'Oh yes baby give it to me again'. Useful? Well that's not for me to decide for you right now. Is this compilation enough to get you hard / wet - both? Maybe not quite but it might get you laid if you subtly press play with the right girl or guy or both in the room.

I tested this theory out and it almost worked, at least it might have if my cat hadn't decided to vomit up my missing earplugs all over the parquet. Have not got that stain out. Thanks for that.

The compilation starts with the sexy 'So Long My Love' by tomorrows world. This is a smart contemporary track that oozes sex and is great fucking material. The new Juveniles track follows. Its not as good as 'We Are Young' - whatever, never could be. Make out background noise it certainly is. More of the same with some sultry female vocals on Free by 'Owlle' follows. She has a vivacious voice that excites me.

I didn't enjoy every track on this. About the Girls effort 'Tiger Evolution' was tame, thankfully it was followed by the awesome 'Angelina' by Nameless.

Look, this is 90% throwaway electro indie pop but who cares? If you want now music then go get it. Theres bound to be some new bands on here you haven't heard of and it's good to keep up with what's hot, or going to be in the next few months. Kitsune are good at that and always have been.

ALBUM REVIEW: V/A 'Kitsuné Maison 10 Compilation' out November 29 on Kitsuné

I've said it before about this series and I'll say it again; it's a great breeding ground for fresh talent and as a result it's a little hit and miss. If you like every track on here then you know something has gone wrong somewhere. Kitsune wouldn't keep doing them if they weren't at least a tiny bit commercially successful though would they?

At least they would have stopped before they hit number 10. So what has number 10, 'The Fireworks Issue' indecently, got that's worth making it an essential purchase this bonfire night? Well for a start there is a few well known names amongst the up and comings and personally a track that I have been waiting to hear for ages - the new Digitalism 'Blitz' that is superb, and awesome track called 'Sorry' by Justus Kohncke and a sweet sweet remix by MUSTANG of Two Door Cimema Clubs 'What You Know'.

Of course there were imo some misses although you may disagree and I hope at least some of you do. I didn't like the first 2 or 3 tracks on disc 1 and again there were a few on disc 2 that didn't do anything for me. I'm not going top get specific but when you pick up a copy later this month come back and let me know what you liked and didn't like.

Stand out for me was Flight Facilities 'Crave You (feat Giselle)'. I could not get this out of my head for a long time after listening to it which is always a good sign. Black Strobe and the Twelves on remix duty of Me & Madonna is also worth a few repeat listens.

ALBUM REVIEW: V/A 'Kitsune Maison 9 Compilation' out now on Kitsune

Every time the new Maison Compilation comes out I think 'Is this the one that will signal the end?' and every time I'm thankful that I can truthfully answer NO!

Kitsune have been churning these things out for what seems like forever now but in fact really isn't and not only do they keep getting better they are just as Fresh as the first one.

They finger on the pulse is not an easy thing to maintain over long periods but for the moment at least they seem to be managing just fine.

Highlights for me include the wonderful ravetastic 'Silverlink V Kicks Like A Mule Remix aka 92JUK' remix of M.I.A's XR2 - I got this on bootleg 2 years ago and it's just rising up now - and 'Short And Entertaining' by Jamaica. Oh and of course the massive 'Something Started' by Two Door Cinema Club had to make an appearance too. Check our song of the moment too by Logo called 'La Vie Moderne' it's immense, epic, electro.

Of course there is always a downside to providing the most freshest and underground music and that is that not all of it can be good. There are as always some 'misses' on here imo the first three tracks should not have made the final cut. The good outweighs the bad and if you are looking to open your mind this summer in more ways than one then this could nay should for part of your soundtrack.
