ALBUM REVIEW: Dapayk Solo 'Decade One' out 24 May on Mo's Ferry Prod.

Although essentially this is a retrospective look back at some of the highlights of Dapayk's best work from the last decade, this is a very relevant release both for fans and those new to his work.

The double CD package contains some of the best of his original works that manage to beautifully blend the techno, house and broken beat styling he is renowned for and on the second disk a selection of remixes of various projects.

There is one particular stand out remix on the second disk. The Oliver Koletzki Remix of Dapayk & Padbergs 'Teapot' is a sublime summer house house track that evokes both memories of some of the best parties and club nights of the last decade (with those hands in the air breakdowns for head-nodding pauses) and and electric excitement in me for the times ahead when I will be able to hear this song again and enjoy it in the environs it was designed for.

4/5
